In Rotherham we are ambitious for all our children and young people to achieve their potential and have the best start in life. Our social care services are Ofsted rated Good, and we continue our journey to transform how we support children and families. Now is a perfect and exciting time to join us and be a pivotal part of the team.
As Head of Service – Safeguarding, Quality and Practice, you will need to bring your passion, experience, and expertise in driving forward this agenda across the whole of the children and young people services. We have a well embedded approach to quality assurance and quality of practice activity in social care and are keen to take this wider into other aspects of our services, such as Early Help, SEND and aspects of Education and Inclusion. As well as having responsibility for our Safeguarding and Reviewing Services, you will also lead for our Rotherham Learning Academy, with its faculty approach and links to the Teaching Partnership. This provides you with the opportunity for ensuring that staff throughout the directorate have the skills and expertise to offer outstanding practice as well as enhancing their own learning and career opportunities with us.
The post will report to the Strategic Director, Children and Young Persons Services (DCS), a recent change that will ensure delivery of the Directorate wide approach. This will help to strengthen the independence of our Independent Reviewing Officers and Child Protection Conference Chairs, as well as championing social work practice through the PCFSW role, and ensuring a strong connection and line of sight from strategic leaders on front line practice.
The postholder is responsible for a diverse range of teams that are fundamental to the quality assurance work, as well as being the accountable officer for our Multi-Agency Safeguarding Arrangements via the Rotherham Safeguarding Children Partnership.
You will need the passion and enthusiasm to take this service and our practice to the next level – Outstanding, using a Restorative approach and leading by experience and example. The journey is fast paced, exciting and forward thinking, are you the person ready for their next step? If so, the please contact Irene Livingstone to find out more [email protected]
