Rotherham Youth Justice Service (YJS) is seeking an experienced practitioner who will manage complex cases on Statutory orders and Out of Court Disposals. You will have excellent assessment and communication skills, an understanding of the desistance factors for and against offending by children and young people and the passion, commitment and creativity to support change. You will be able to produce reports and maintain excellent case records as well as be able to use a range of databases and case management systems. As part of the role you may be required to attend Court or Custodial settings as a representative of Rotherham YJS.

You should have:
Experience of working with young people and their families who present with a range of complex needs (mental health challenges, drug and alcohol misuse, offending behaviour, child exploitation etc.)
Experience of case management including assessments, planning, intervention and reviews with young people and families with complex needs.
Experience of working directly with children and adults in a multi-agency setting and knowledge of the roles of other agencies and professionals. Able to challenge, negotiate, advocate and collaborate with a range of partners in order to support young people.

From 1st April 2017 to 31st March 2024 employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a weekly / monthly deduction (dependent on pay frequency) from each pay period over the full financial year.
