Street Scene Service is a high-profile service responsible for delivering the Council’s ‘Cleaner, Greener’ commitments and providing a high quality lived experience for the citizens of Doncaster. The Council’s commitment to this programme has recently seen significant investment into the Tree Team.
We are looking to recruit 2 enthusiastic and adaptable arborists to join our specialist arboricultural team. The ideal candidates will have experience in tree work and hold some of the basic NPTC/LANTRA certificates for chainsaw and woodchipper use and tree climbing. Those who have the certificates but may be in need of a refresher may still apply. This role would suit someone who may have just finished an apprenticeship in Arboriculture or those looking to get further experience in the arboricultural industry, with future possible progression to chargehand arborist leading a team of arborists. Doncaster Council invest heavily in training and progression.
The tree team is responsible for the maintenance and care of around 50,000 trees in parks, open spaces and adjacent to the highway network, over 500Ha of public woodland, for other council departments, such as cemeteries and housing, and schools. We also provide a 24 hour/365 day emergency tree call out service.

Shortlisting will take place week commencing 08/05/2023 and it is anticipated that interviews will be held same week or week commencing 15/05/2023. There may be a practical assessment as part of the selection process.
