A new opportunity is available to support the Rotherham Covid 19 Outbreak Plan. Individuals appointed to post will form part of a unique network of skills to deliver a variety of services to our residents during exceptional times. The role of Health Protection Team Leader will sit under Adult Care, Housing and Public Health directorate and is a full-time post for 12-18 months.
The post holder will provide leadership, management and oversight of the health protection function, including the response to incidents and outbreaks.
The postholder will have responsibility for day to day operational delivery and management of the team, including working closely with partners, and ensuring delivery of high-quality surveillance, response and support.
This role is responsible for providing accurate advice on actions to control spread of infectious disease so the potential positive and negative impact on the community is substantial both in terms of the economy and the spread of communicable disease.
The postholder will also be required to work across joint initiatives and individual workstreams within the other domains of public health.

From 1st April 2017 to 31st March 2022 employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a weekly / monthly deduction (dependent on pay frequency) from each pay period over the full financial year. In recognition of implementing this temporary measure, those who experience a pay reduction will be awarded of three additional day’s leave (pro rata for part-time).
