As Assistant Director Education and Inclusion, you will bring your passion, experience, and expertise in driving forward this agenda across the whole of the children and young people services. This fantastic opportunity will give you invaluable experience that will broaden your skill set, sector knowledge and leadership capability.
You will drive forward transformation and be instrumental in the wider education system for supporting the delivery of excellent outcomes for children and young people in Rotherham. You will have a track record of working with partners and stakeholders, leading the Council’s response to the Government’s aim of creating a self-improving school system led by networks of schools, soft federations, hard federations and multi-academy trusts.
You will be responsible for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, ensuring inclusion throughout the Education provision. With a vibrant education sector, and Parent Carer Forum, co-production is at the heart of our work, relational and collaborative working is well embedded.

This post is classed as 'politically restricted' under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 (as amended). The full details of the restrictions are set out in the Statutory Instrument, but broadly the restrictions prohibit candidature from public elected office; holding office in a political party; as well as involvement in political activities such as canvassing or public speaking/writing.
From 1st April 2017 to 31st March 2022 employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a weekly / monthly deduction (dependent on pay frequency) from each pay period over the full financial year. In recognition of implementing this temporary measure, those who experience a pay reduction will be awarded of three additional day’s leave (pro rata for part-time).
