Do you have experience of managing teams, across a range of experience levels?
The Locality Manager is responsible for effective and efficient operation and service delivery of Adult Care Locality teams. This role gives direction and support to Team Managers to manage caseloads, risk and workforce development, utilising objective setting and performance management to support direct reports. The role will provide support to the Head of Service and Team Managers within their individual portfolios- Adult Social Care locality teams and Transition Team with Preparing for Adult responsibilities.
Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council Adult Social Care Locality Team are looking for a positive, experienced social work manager who shares our values and commitment. Your primary duties will include:
To facilitate service user choice and empowerment through promoting independence and strength-based practice to enable residents to maintain their independence and local community connections for as long as safely possible. Support the vision of Transition service and to drive the authorities Preparing of Adulthood journey.
To assist with the management of budgets, ensuring that processes and procedures are carried out in a timely and effective way within available resources.
To guide and lead Team Manager and staff in statutory intervention when people are at risk or may be neglected or abused. This will include chairing Section 42 Safeguarding Adults Enquiries.
To provide operational and motivational leadership of Team Managers and staff, promoting a positive working environment with the primary aim of delivering high quality services.
To manage the team’s performance to achieve the Department’s vision.

Have knowledge of current developments in relevant legislation, national guidance and frameworks and how to access more detailed information when necessary, including the local authority’s responsibility to safeguard adults at risk

Use of objective setting and performance management to support direct reports
Experience of performance management and quality assurance processes in service delivery
As a Locality Manager it is important that you are able to demonstrate the Rotherham MBC values and possess the interpersonal skills required to be able to build effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders.

From 1st April 2017 to 31st March 2022 employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a weekly / monthly deduction (dependent on pay frequency) from each pay period over the full financial year.
