Following the Government’s changes to Initial Teacher Training (ITT) over recent years, the Doncaster ITT Partnership has further increased its capacity to support Partner schools and academies to train teachers on the School Direct and School Centred ITT (SCITT) programmes starting in September 2020. Consequently we now require additional Primary phase ITT Tutors to expand our current team of practitioners who play a key role in supporting student teachers during their training.
Ideal applicants who fully meet the essential elements of the Person Specification will be highly-skilled education professionals from the Primary phase, with significant experience of teacher training and staff development in schools, preferably with an excellent knowledge of schools-based teacher training.
Successful applicants will report directly to a Lead ITT Tutor who oversees the Primary cohort of trainees and who has additional responsibilities for the overall Quality Assurance aspects of the training programmes - delivered by an alliance of schools and academies (centred around the Partners in Learning Teaching School Alliance) working in Partnership with the Local Authority and other partner organisations. Please see the Job Description and Person Specification for further details.
The posts are initially for an up to one-year period to start no later than 1st September 2020 or sooner if possible.
All ITT Tutors would be asked to support between 4 and 6 (max 8) trainee teachers and their schools, with a commitment to work no less than one day per trainee per half-term on average, plus attending at least termly Quality Assurance meetings, supporting the delivery of some elements of the training, as appropriate, and to assist with the selection and induction of trainees.
