Rotherham Council continues to encourage all the behaviours that we know reduces the spread of infection, in line with National Guidance.
Therefore, in line with current advice, capacity reductions remain in place in Council buildings and where possible, staff are continuing to work from home in a number of roles, with occasional requirements to attend office locations.
We are actively adopting a hybrid way of working which will include both home and office working based on service and customer needs.
Rotherham is undergoing a period of major Town Centre Regeneration, including exciting transformation of the Town centre Public Realm funded by Towns Fund, Future High Streets Fund and Transforming Cities Funding in additional the Council’s own Capital investment via £4m Towns and Villages Fund.
This vacancy offers an excellent opportunity for talented and enthusiastic Landscape Architect to work within the Council’s long established Landscape Design Team. You will be given the opportunity to work on the design and implementation of a wide range of projects, from large scale town centre public realm, schools, highways schemes, play areas, parks masterplans and housing regeneration schemes.
Our ideal candidate should be a chartered member of the Landscape Institute, with a minimum of 2 years post chartership experience. You should be enthusiastic, self-motivated and have strong communication skills, and excellent design, graphic presentation and CAD skills.

This is an initial temporary contract of up to 2 years duration.
Interviews are expected to take place during w/c 10th January 2022 and the successful applicant expected to commence during February 2022.
This post involves travel around the Borough on a weekly basis for which an appropriate allowance is payable.

This post operates under a Career Grade/Grading Assessment Scheme, with starting salary and progression through the grades being linked to experience, qualifications and level of work being undertaken.
From 1st April 2017 to 31st March 2022 employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a weekly / monthly deduction (dependent on pay frequency) from each pay period over the full financial year. In recognition of implementing this temporary measure, those who experience a pay reduction will be awarded of three additional day’s leave (pro rata for part-time).
